Ukrainian teenager Pavlo Korostylov and Croatia's Snjezana Pejcic each enjoyed victories today at the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup in Munich.

Korostylov enjoyed a superb day of shooting to defeat rivals including four-time Olympic champion Jin Jong-oh in the 10 metres air pistol final.

The 19-year-old had never won a senior World Cup before but has enjoyed victories at the Summer Youth Olympic Games and at Junior World Championship level.

He set a junior world record of 240.9 points at the Olympic Shooting Range in the German city.

Japan's 41-year-old Matsuda Tomoyuki, the world champion in 2010, scored 238.7 points to finish second.

South Korea's Jin, 37, managed 218.4 for third.

"The qualification has been tough; I was a bit nervous," said Korostylov, the Youth Olympic champion in the discipline at Nanjing 2014.

"But during the final match I calmed down, I did not feel stressed by shooting next to champions like Jin and Matsuda.

"For me we are all athletes, and first of all we are all competing against ourselves."

Pejcic triumphed by 6.8 points in the women's 50m rifle three positions final.

The 34-year-old dominated throughout to win gold with 462.2 points.

Germany's Selina Gschwandtner, 23, took a home silver with 455.5 points.

She was joined on the podium by her team-mate Jolyn Beer, 22, who claimed bronze with 444.6 points.

"Today's competition has been interesting, considering the fact that I shot an eight at my last shot in the qualifications," said Pejcic.

"I thought 'that's it, no way to get into the final'.

"But luckily I made it."

The World Cup will come to a close tomorrow with the men's 50m rifle three positions and women's 10m air pistol.
