Beijing 2022 have completed their first worldwide staff recruitment interviews as they seek to build a global team.

Organisers for the Winter Olympics in China's capital opened the recruitment process in March and hope to employ 22 key members of global staff.

The jobs on offer include roles in project management, venue management and rights protection, as well as planning and construction analysis, facility construction and venue planning for Games zones.

Sponsorship sales, licensing, brand protection and ticketing positions are also being recruited.

"In total, 119 applicants competed for 21 positions from 8am to 8pm, accepting exams on language, common knowledge and professional skills," a Beijing 2022 statement said.

"Some candidates also received interviews via remote video."

The interviews were the latest stage of the process, which began with online applications and a first qualification review.

In April, candidates took part in a written exam and a second qualification review stage was also carried out.

Following interviews this month, background checks are due to be conducted on the remaining candidates.

The successful candidates are expected to be notified later this month.

They will join 170 employees who already work for Beijing 2022.

Unsuccessful applicants will be placed in a Beijing 2022 talent pool.

Organisers claim the process is part of their goal of "selecting and recruiting a workforce to build a global team of professional personnel".
