Vital International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup final qualification qualification points will be on offer for shotgun athletes in Larnaca this week as they prepare to take part in their last regular event on the circuit this season.

The Shotgun World Cup in the Cypriot city is due to get underway tomorrow and run through to next Saturday (May 6).

It will be the penultimate chance for competitors to qualify for the ISSF World Cup final in New Delhi in October.

Athletes will also have the opportunity to guarantee themselves a spot at the season finale in the Indian capital during the Shotgun World Championships, which run from August 30 to September 11 in Moscow.

A total of 429 shooters, representing 61 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) are set to compete in Larnaca.

Competition is scheduled to begin tomorrow with the women's skeet event, before the men come to the fore on Monday (May 1).

A rest day then follows before action resumes on Wednesday (May 3) with the double trap men event.

The trap women's competition is set to be held on Friday (May 6), with the regular Shotgun World Cup season concluded the following day with the trap men final.

While the Shotgun World Cup season is close to concluding, athletes in the rifle and pistol disciplines have two more events to look forward to.

The next competition on the calendar is due to be staged in Munich from May 17 to 24.

Gabala in Azerbaijan is scheduled to play host to the last event before the World Cup Final from June 6 to 14.
