The resort of Åre will play host to the World Championships in 2019 and a meeting was held there featuring a delegation from Swiss venue St Moritz.

This was led by chief executive Hugo Wetzel who presented the final debrief report from St Moritz 2017.

A group of more than 50 representatives from the Åre 2019 Organising Committee, the Swedish Ski Association, resort owners Skistar and the local community also took part.

In addition, a party from the 2021 World Championships in Cortina d'Ampezzo in Italy were also present, as well as television staff and the FIS. 

The meeting took place in the newly expanded building situated at the finish area of the ski courses.

"From the beginning, St Moritz 2017 had a clear vision for their World Championships and they more than delivered on that vision," said FIS secretary general Sarah Lewis.

"Seeing the final report from the organisers brought back many special memories and emphasised what an excellent event they produced."

St Moritz representatives covered sport organisation, accreditation, accommodation, transportation and the finish area building in their presentation.

Media services, fan engagement and legacy were also covered.

Åre, which staged the FIS Alpine Junior World Championships in March, then provided a status report, led by chief executive Niklas Carlsson. 

The World Championships in Åre will take place between February 5 and February 17 in 2019.
