Thomas Wesselhoff has been named as the President of the Swedish Weightlifting Federation (SWF) after the organisation's annual meeting.

Wesselhoff was selected by the delegates present at the meeting, with 40 taking part in the vote for the President and Executive Board.

The official replaces Eva Helgesson, who chose to resign after two terms as the President of the organisation.

Helgesson was thanked for her contribution by the SWF, who will now be looking forward to Wesselhoff's two-year tenure.

Wesselhoff currently works in the real estate sector and holds a degree in behavioral science, education planning and staff development.

The SWF said that he has held several positions within Swedish sport and that he belongs to the club Skara AK.

Kjell-Åke Johansson was re-elected as vice-president for a two-year term, with Gabriella Pröckl and Patrik Helgesson joining the board for the same time period.

Thomas Östlund was elected to the board on a one-year term.

Current board members Erling Åkesson and Fredrik Svensson have one year left on their current terms.

The SWF have wished "every success" to Karin Engström and Magnus Lindqvist, with the pair having chosen to retire from the board at the annual meeting.

The organisation offered their thanks to the associations, districts and other participants who attended the meeting.

It was preceded by a district leadership conference.
