Canada's men's and women's teams both lead their respective World Curling Federation (WCF) rankings following the two teams' successful World Championship campaigns.

It was the 36th time Canada had won the men's title, while they have become the first country to win both the men's and women's crown in the same year.

Both teams became the first in their respective competitions to not lose a match on their way to the titles, with each side earning 240 ranking points.

This cemented the men's position at number one and saw the women's team move above Switzerland into first place.

Canada's men now have 868 points and have a commanding 104 point lead over second placed Sweden, who stayed in the same position after losing the World Championship final in Edmonton.

Norway were also a non-mover in third on 564 while Scotland occupy fourth on 512.

Scotland secured a place at Pyeongchang 2018, where they will play as Great Britain, following a top eight finish at the World Championship.

All teams qualifying for the World Curling Championships get 50 points which sees the Swiss move on to a total of 726.

Russia took the World Championship silver medal and jumped two places to third on 637 after claiming 200 points.

Bronze medallists Scotland remain in fourth on 628 while Sweden dropped from third to fifth on 582 after losing the third/fourth match in Beijing.
