Six athletes have been provisionally suspended by the International Equestrian Federation (FEI) after analytical findings involving banned substances.

All six were notified of the sanction on April 5, with their horses provisionally suspended for two months.

They must now all await the decision of the FEI Tribunal, with all cases coming under the FEI's Equine Anti-Doping and Controlled Medication Regulations.

Three cases involve an event which took place in Wellington in Florida between January 17 and 22 this year.

American jumper Paige Johsnon and her horse Luke Skywalker failed for pramoxine, with compatriot Adrienne Lyle, a dressage rider, and horse Horizon failing for ractopamine.

Another American, Kaitlin Blythe, saw her horse Don Principe fail for ractopamine in Wellington.

Uruguay's Victoria Goñi and horse El Mate failed for ergonovine at an event in Trinidad in her home country between February 3 and 5.

Marlon Modolo Zanotelli of Brazil and his horse Sirene de la Motte tested positive for sparteine at a competition in Vilamoura in Portugal, between February 8 and 12.

Giacomo Bassi, an Italian, has also been sanctioned after horse Cenerado tested positive for both stanozolol and ketoprofen.

This was at a competition in Gorla Minore in Italy between March 9 and 12.
