The Soul Brasil Pro Cycling team is facing a second blanket suspension from competition after anti-doping cases were announced against two of its riders.

Alex Correia Diniz has been provisionally suspended based on an adverse athlete biological passport ruling, the International Cycling Union (UCI) announced.

Otavio Bulgarelli has also been suspended from competition for alleged tampering.

The Brazilian team, previously known as Funvic Soul Cycles-Carrefour, served a 55 day suspension last year after three of their riders tested positive within a 12-month period.

It means they now face a lengthier ban due to the alleged further violations.

"For the purposes of article 7.12 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules, these constitute additional charges for members of the UCI Professional Continental Team Soul Brasil Pro Cycling within a 12-month period," read a world governing body statement.

"Therefore Article 7.12.3 of the UCI Anti-Doping Rules providing for the suspension of the team from 15 days to 12 months will be applied.

"The UCI will refer the matter to the Disciplinary Commission which will render a decision in due course.

"At this stage of the procedure, the UCI will not comment any further on any of these matters."

Colombian Ramiro Rincon Diaz and Brazilian João Marcelo Pereira Gaspar both previously failed tests for continuous erythropoietin receptor activator (CERA).

Another Brazilian in Kleber Da Silva Ramos failed a test for the same substance during the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.
