South Korea's Jingsung Jung came out on top in the men's competition at the International Fencing Federation (FIE) Epee Grand Prix in Budapest.

The Olympic bronze medallist, the world number 19, saw off Japan's Kazuyasu Minobe in the final in Hungary's capital.

Jung, a quadruple Asian Games gold medallist, came through 15-9.

Minobe, the world number five, was favourite before the final started.

Another South Korean, Kyoungdoo Park, and Italy's Andrea Santarelli took home the bronze medals.

In the women's event, Italy's world champion and Olympic silver medallist Rossella Fiamingo triumphed.

She saw off South Korea's Injeong Choi 14-9 for gold.

Japan's Ayaka Shimookawa and Estonia's Julia Beljajeva were awarded bronze.
