Norway won the final team competition of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Ski Jumping World Cup season after coming out on top in Slovenia in Planica today.

The quartet of Robert Johansson, Johann Andre Forfang, Anders Fannemel and Andreas Stjernen triumphed with a total of 1,551.6 points.

Johansson and Forfang ranked first with both their jumps to set Norway on their victory before Fannemel posted third and second-place finishes.

Stjernen only recorded the 10th and fourth best jumps in the final round, but it was still enough to secure the win.

Germany’s Markus Eisenbichler, Richard Freitag, Karl Geiger and Andreas Wellinger finished second with 1,502.6, while Poland’s Piotr Zyla, Dawid Kubacki, Maciej Kot and Kamil Stoch rounded out the podium with 1,493.8.

Austria came fourth, followed by the home favourites of Slovenia.

A spectacular trial round saw Johansson set a new hill record with 250 metres.

Austria's Stefan Kraft then set another record with 251m in the final round, a few minutes before Stoch landed at 251.5m.

"Today was a great day for us," Johansson said.

"It already had an amazing start with the 250m in the trial round and my jumps in the competition were very good as well.

"The whole team had some solid jumps today and so we could take the win."

Poland now lead the Nations Cup standings on 5,727 points, with Austria second on 5,451 and Germany third on 5,358.

Austria only have a slim chance of taking the title in the last competition of the season, which is scheduled to take place tomorrow.
