Top seed Lin Dan of China reached the semi-finals of the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Swiss Open at the St. Jakobshalle in Münchenstein today.

Dan, the double Olympic champion, comfortably dispatched Ihsan Maulana Mustofa of Indonesia  21-17, 21-14 to secure his place in the last four.

Tzu Wei Wang of Chinese Taipei also reached the final four after he came back from a game down to beat Japan's unseeded Kanta Tsuneyama 14-21, 21-16, 21-17.

Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia, the tournament's 12th seed, also required three games to beat Emil Holst of Denmark.

Holst took the opening game 17-21 but Ginting emphatically turned the contest around to win the second and third games 21-15, 21-13.

In the women's singles, Chen Xiaoxin of China defeated Germany's Olga Konon 21-18, 21-9 to reach the last four.

She will now play Fitriani Fitriani of Indonesia for a place in the final after she overcame Denmark's Mia Blichfeldt 12-21, 21-19, 22-20.

Chen Yufei of China also progressed.

The tournament's third seed brushed aside Japan's Sayaka Takahashi 21-19, 21-12 in straight games.

Chinese pairings enjoyed a phenomenal day in the doubles tournaments.

Chai Biao and Hong Wei are the top seeds in the men's doubles event and they defeat Fajar Alfian and Muhammad Rian Ardianto of Indonesia 21-15, 22-20.

In the women's doubles Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifa defeated Indonesian opponents Della Destiara Haris and Rosyita Eka Putri Sari 17-21, 21-10, 21-14.

Chen and partner Zheng Siwei are the number one seeds in the mixed doubles tournament and they made their superiority show.

The duo got the better of Mathias Christiansen and Sara Thygesen of Denmark 21-13, 21-19.
