GB Taekwondo has appointed sport creative consultancy Earnie to help develop a ticket sales campaign for four events in England over the next three years.

Earnie will be involved in delivering a fully-integrated marketing plan, brand strategy and campaign identities for each event, tasked with growing audience’s year on year in the run up to the 2019 World Championships at the Manchester Arena.

They will work alongside existing partner eightyone600, a strategic marketing consultancy which has helped GB Taekwondo with their ticket sales planning over the last three years.

"Following a highly-successful Olympics last year, GB Taekwondo is keen to build upon its legacy with a number of big events in the UK," Ian Leafe, events manager at GB Taekwondo, said.

"Following a thorough pitch process, we were impressed by Earnie’s recommendations to deliver a response-led creative solution that works alongside our other event partners."

Earnie won the creative account following a public tender and shortlisted pitch process.

"We are thrilled to be working with GB Taekwondo and helping shape the next few years of big events," Alistair Gammell, managing director of Earnie, said.

"By starting with the commercial objectives and placing the campaign emphasis on tracking, reporting and delivery we are confident of reaching the ticket sales targets."

Great Britain won three Olympic medals at Rio 2016, including gold for defending champion in the women’s 57 kilograms category.

Lutalo Muhammad was the silver medallist in the men’s 80kg category and Bianca Walkden took bronze in the women’s over 67kg division.

It was revealed in November of last year that as well as playing host to the 2019 World Championships, Manchester will also stage a leg of the 2018 WTF World Taekwondo Grand-Prix Series.

The Copper Box Arena in London, which was used for Olympic competitions in 2012, will be a venue for this year's Grand-Prix Series.
