Austria's Nadine Fest has won her second title of the 2017 International Ski Federation (FIS) Junior Alpine World Ski Championships in Åre in Sweden today.

After winning the women's super-G title yesterday, Fest doubled her tally with Alpine combined victory today in an overall time of 2 mins 9.05 sec.

"It feels amazing, I have no words for this," said Fest.

"I was so nervous at the slalom start but it was a solid run and now I’m just happy.

"The super-G had a bit of flat light but we had great conditions.

"It was a really good super-G run."

Slovenia's Meta Hrovat took second place, 0.46 behind, in 2:09.51.

Another Austrian Franziska Gritsch, who took second in yesterday's super-G event, finished in third place today with a combined time of 2:09.52.

"The super-G run was good because I’m not normally a super-G skier," said 19-year-old Hrovat.

"I felt good because I had good clean turns but I didn’t really have a good feeling between the gates in the slalom.

"But I guess it was enough."

Next on the competition's schedule is the men's Alpine combined event which is due to take place tomorrow.

Åre was awarded the Championships by the FIS Council at a meeting held during the 2015 FIS Alpine World Ski Championships in Vail Beaver Creek.

It followed a proposal from the Swedish Ski Association and the organisers of the 2019 Alpine World Ski Championships, which will also be held at the resort.

It is claimed the move will allow organisers to test facilities and infrastructure, as well as giving young skiers the chance to compete at a top-class venue.
