France Fighting Roosters won 3-2 against Italia Thunder today in a World Series of Boxing Group B clash at the Salle de la Palestre in Le Cannet.

It means the two teams, and the British Lionhearts, all lie on two wins and one defeat after three rounds of matches.

Martin Molina Salvador got the French team off to a good start today in the under 49 kilograms division.

It came courtesy of a narrow 2-1 split decision victory over Federico Serra.

Francesco Grandelli then levelled proceedings after being awarded an under 56kg win over Geoffrey Dos Santos by all three judges,

Hassan Amzile continued the see-saw nature of the contest by beating Ennio Zingaro 3-0 at under 64kg to put the Roosters back in front.

Nizar Trimech then guaranteed the French win by beating Raffaele Munno 3-0 in the under 75kg division.

Italy's two-time Olympic silver medallist Clemente Russo won the final under 91kg bout 2-1 over Kevin Kuadjovi, but it was no more than a consolation.
