The International Luge Federation (FIL) has published the calendar for its 2017-18 season with next year's Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang headlining the schedule.

Luge's four Olympic competitions - men's, women's, doubles and team relay - will all be decided in the first week of Pyeongchang 2018, which is due to take place from February 9 to 25 in South Korea.

The Games will be preceded by nine FIL World Cups, set to be held in six countries across two continents.

The first World Cup of the campaign is scheduled for November 18 to 19 in Austrian city Innsbruck, which staged the 47th FIL World Championships in January.

Athletes will then move onto German towns Winterberg and Altenberg, with the former playing host on November 25 and 26 and the latter on December 2 and 3.

This will be followed by meets in Canadian city Calgary on December 8 and 9 and American village Lake Placid on December 15 and 16.

In keeping with tradition, the first event of the New Year will take place in Königssee in Germany on January 6 and 7, during Epiphany.

The final third of the season will see events held in German town Oberhof on January 13 and 14, Norwegian town Lillehammer on January 20 and 21 and Latvian town Sigulda on January 27 and 28.

Sigulda will also host the 49th FIL European Championships at the end of February, while three sprint World Cups and six team relay World Cups will be staged over the course of the season.

Before the campaign gets underway, an international training week will take place on the Alpensia Sliding Centre Olympic track in Pyeongchang between November 2 and 11.
