Italy's Michela Moioli claimed her second win of the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard Cross World Cup season in Spanish ski resort La Molina today, keeping her in contention for the overall title with just one event remaining.

The 21-year-old's victory moves her up to third on 3,890 points, 480 behind Czech leader Eva Samkova who finished second today.

France's Chloe Trespeuch came third, while Australia's Belle Brockhoff - second in the World Cup standings on 4,060 points - finished seventh.

The last event of the World Cup season is due to take place in Veysonnaz in Switzerland on March 24 and 25.

In today’s men's event, France’s Pierre Vaultier increased his season's tally of World Cup wins to two and subsequently moved within 20 points of overall leader Omar Visintin of Italy.

Visintin finished fourth in La Molina as Austria's Lukas Pachner and the United States' Nick Baumgartner took second and third spot respectively.

Austria's Luca Haemmerle is third in the World Cup standings on 3114.6 points after finishing 45th today.

He trails frontrunner Visintin by 355.4 points.
