The World Karate Federation (WKF) has published the official photo book of the 2016 Karate World Championships in the Austrian city of Linz.

The book is said to "present all the excitement, emotion and beauty" of the competition held in October.

Produced by the WKF's media department, the book guides fans through a detailed overview of the best moments of the event.

More than 100 pictures are presented across 38 pages, giving karate fans an opportunity to reflect on the competition.

The book includes pictures of the Opening and Closing Ceremonies as well as the action from the Tips Arena.

At last year's World Championships, Japan finished top of the standings with nine medals comprised of six golds, two silvers and one bronze.

It is the second piece of memorabilia produced from the Championships after a documentary entitled "Karate Magic in Linz" was released in December.

The 30-minute film, depicting the best moments at October’s event, was made available on The Olympic Channel in December.

According to the WKF, the programme "tells the story of the 2016 Karate World Championships from the emotions and excitement of thousands of karatekas and karate fans around the world, to the quest of medals and the experiences of top competitors and 'karate stars' during the tournament".

It features the action from the event itself as well as behind the scenes footage, while detailing the journey of athletes from their arrival at the venue to the anticipated highlight of the medals and their presentation as world champions.
