Lehmann, who won the downhill title at the 1993 World Championships in Morioka-Shizukuishi, has led the organisation since 2006 and will now continue his tenure at the helm.

Claude-Alain Schmidhalter was elected to replace vice-president Jean-Philippe Rochat, who opted to stand down after 12 years of service.

Peter Barandun and Urs Winkler were also re-elected as vice-presidents of the governing body.

Bernhard Aregger succeeded Johnny Wyssmüller as a member of the organisation, while Florence Koehn and Reini Regli were granted membership.

As well as the elections for the Swiss-Ski Association’s Board, ski slopestyle and alpine combined crystal globe winners Andri Ragettli and Wendy Holdener were recognised for their achievements over the past season.

Recently retired ski cross racer Mike Schmid and Rochat were named honorary members of the Swiss-Ski Association.

Around 200 delegates were present at the meeting, including International Ski Federation (FIS) President Gian-Franco Kasper and secretary general Sarah Lewis.

The next annual gathering of the organisation is due to be held in Ticino on June 24, 2017, with the 2018 edition scheduled to be staged in Flims.

The Austrian Ski Association has also recently held its General Assembly in St. Pölten.

The main focus of the event was a report from President Peter Schröcksnadel, who also gave a detailed review of the FIS Ski Flying World Championships in Kulm.

A host of athletes were honoured for their performances in the 2015 to 2016 season, including Sochi 2014 Winter Olympics normal hill silver medallist Daniela Iraschko-Stolz.
