A Facebook page has been launched for the 2017 International Luge Federation (FIL) World Championships in Innsbruck.

The event, the 48th edition of the Championships, is due to take place between January 27 and 29 next year. 

A website has been active since last July and has now been joined by a Facebook page. 

The Championships are due to be held on the Olympic Bobsleigh Run that was built for the 1976 Winter Olympics.

It will be the fifth occasion that Tirol's capital has hosted the Championships. 

The first was in 1977 and has then been followed at 10-year intervals in 1987, 1997 and 2007. 

Other social media channels, including a Twitter page, are due to be launched shortly.
