Kerri Walsh Jennings and April Ross won their fourth International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) World Tour event of the season by sealing glory at the Moscow Grand Slam today.

The Americans, who won the tournament in 2014, beat Brazil's defending champions Talita Antunes and Larissa Franca 22-20, 21-17 on the sands in the Russian capital.

They had previously lost their last two gold medal clashes against Antunes and Franca but got home today in a 36 minute contest.

Walsh Jennings, a triple Olympic champion, and Ross have won 40 matches this season and have lost only two.

They are now the top ranked team on the World Tour this season and won all seven games they contested in Moscow, cementing their status as favourites to win Olympic gold at Rio 2016.

It is also back-to-back titles for the US team after their triumph at the Cincinnati Open earlier this month.

Another American pair, Heather Bansley and Sarah Pavan, beat Brazil's Lima and Juliana Felisberta 21-16, 21-18 for bronze.

In the men's competition, there was Dutch gold as Reinder Nummerdor and Christiaan Varenhorst sealed the title against the top ranked pair.

The number five seeds ensured that it would be two silver medals for Brazil as they defeated reigning world champions Alison Cerutti and Bruno Oscar Schmidt in three sets.

After edging the opener the Dutch pair were well beaten in the second, but they recovered well to clinch the decider and triumph 21-19, 7-21, 17-15.

In the battle for bronze, Polish pair Bartosz Losiak and Piotr Kantor defeated Americans Jake Gibb and Casey Patterson.

They came from behind to beat the second seeds, 19-21, 22-20, 15-12.
