Adlington launches new coin for London 2012
April 21 - Double Olympic gold medalist Becky Adlington has helped unveil a special collectors coin to mark the countdown to the London 2021 Olympics.
The gold and silver versions are the first UK £5 coins to feature the Olympic rings and logo in full colour.
The special coins feature images of swimmers racing to the finish line and is sure to conjure up fond memories for Adlington, who won the 800 and 1500 metres freestyle at the Olympics in Beijing last year.
A new coin in gold, silver and cupro-nickel, with a different theme, will be launched each year until the Games.
Adlington said: "The Olympic Games is just around the corner and this coin is a great way for the British public to show its support for the sportsmen and women who are already preparing for this ultimate sporting challenge."

Pierre de Coubertin's blood relation Antoine de Navacelle is working to maintain the values of the man who created the modern Games within today's Olympic and business framework. And as he exclusively tells Mike Rowbottom, it is not a fruitless exercise
