Mitchell, Webster and Dawkins took team sprint gold at the International Cycling Union Track Cycling World Championships in Cali earlier this year and will be looking to add Commonwealth gold at the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome this summer.

The trio secured silver last time out at Delhi 2010, one of nine track medals for New Zealand in the Indian capital.

Webster also secured an individual sprint bronze, while Dawkins won bronze in the 1,000 metres time-trial in Delhi.

Lauren Ellis and Marc Ryan claimed silver four years ago while another Delhi 2010 bronze medal winner, Simon van Velthooven, also makes the squad this time round and will be looking to add to his bronze from London 2012.

Shane Archbold, Patrick Bevin, Pieter Bulling, Aaron Gate, Dylan Kennett, Tom Scully, Matt Archibald and Jamie Nielsen complete the line-up, with more names expected to be added early next month.

Meantime, New Zealand will send a six-strong triathlon squad to Glasgow that includes the mixed team relay quartet who claimed silver at last year's World Championships in Hamburg.

Andrea Hewitt, Tony Dodds, Kate McIlroy and Ryan Sissons will be among the favourites to claim the mixed team crown in Glasgow when the event makes its Commonwealth Games debut at Strathclyde Country Park.

The quartet will also be competing in the individual events where they will be joined by Tom Davison, while Nicky Samuels has been named as reserve.

"Both bike and triathlon are high profile New Zealand sports and we know the athletes will have the support of the nation behind them," said New Zealand Olympic Committee chief executive Kereyn Smith.

"Both teams will be targeting Glasgow 2014 for medals, but also for the vital experience our elite Olympic sports gain.

"The Commonwealth Games provide an opportunity for critical performance benchmarking as well as gaining experience in the multi-sport environment in the build-up to Rio."

The Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games run from July 23 to August 3.
