Japan won a further two gold medals as the remaining four women's events were contested at the United World Wrestling Junior World Championships in Finnish city Tampere.

The East Asian nation’s first victory at the Tampere Exhibition and Sports Center came in the 48 kilograms category with three-time cadet world champion Kika Kagata beating Azerbaijan’s Turkan Nasirova 4-0 in the final.

The bronze medal matches saw Ukraine’s Oksana Livach defeat Ecuador’s Lady Raysa Moran Valenzuela 10-4 and Turkey’s Zeynep Yetgil overcome Tunisia’s Sarra Hamdi 8-6.

Japan’s second triumph of the day was secured by Yarygin Grand Prix titlist Sae Nanjo, who beat Cuba’s Lianna de la Caridad Montero Herrera 6-4 in the 55kg final.

In the bronze medal matches, Azerbaijan’s Leyla Gurbanova defeated Ukraine’s Olena Kremzer 3-0 and Russia’s Viktoriia Vaulina overcame China’s Jing Liang 8-0.

There was disappointment for Japan in the 72kg final as Yasuha Matsuyuki lost 8-6 to Kyrgyzstan’s Aiperi Medet Kyzy in a re-match of their gold medal bout at the Cadet World Championships last September in Tbilisi.

The result was a reverse of the outcome in Georgia's capital.

The bronze medal matches saw Sweden’s Denise Sabina Makota Stroem defeat Russia’s Kristina Shumova 4-1 and Chinese Taipei’s Hui Tsz Chang overcome Canada’s Dejah Aniela Slater on criteria following a 5-5 draw.

Also winning gold today was the United States’ Maya Gabriella Nelson after she registered a 6-0 win over Bulgaria’s Yuliana Vasileva Yaneva in the 63kg final.

By reaching the final, Nelson had already ensured an improvement on her bronze medal from last year's World Junior Championships in French city Macon.

In the bronze medal matches, China's Ying Zhang defeated Russia’s Mariia Kuznetsova 10-4 and Poland’s Aleksandra Wolczynska overcame Kazakhstan’s Aina Temirtassova 3-0.

Action in Tampere is due to continue tomorrow with medals set to be awarded in the Greco-Roman 50kg, 60kg, 74kg and 96kg categories.
