France’s Anouck Jaubert claimed women’s speed gold as the International Federation of Sport Climbing (IFSC) World Cup competition continued in Villars today while Iranian Reza Alipourshenazandifar won the men's competition.

Jaubert was the second fastest qualifier for the final, with Russia’s Iuliia Kaplina again setting the pace by clocking 7.67sec.

Kaplina had broken her own world record on two occasions in April and had been unbeaten so far this year.

She eventually tasted defeat in the final, with Jaubert able to snatch victory in a closely fought competition.

The podium was completed by Elizaveta Ivanova, who beat fellow Russian Mariia Krasavina in the battle for bronze.
