The qualification groups for the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) Women's EuroBasket 2019, due to be co-hosted by Serbia and Latvia, have been announced.

The qualifiers will be played in eight groups of four teams, with every side playing each other in a home-and-away format.

The top team from each of the groups and the six best second-placed teams will earn spots in the final round.

Action will be played in three windows during the club season with teams playing two games in each window.

They are scheduled for November 6 to 16 in this year as well as February 5 to 15 and November 12 to 22 in 2018.

Spain were recently crowned continental champions after winning the final of the 2017 edition of the tournament in the Czech Republic.

The Spaniards claimed a 71-55 victory over France at the Prague Arena on June 25 and have been draw in Group F with Bulgaria, The Netherlands and Ukraine.

France, who have lost in the last three gold medal matches of this tournament, will contest Group E alongside Finland, Romania and Slovenia.

Last month's bronze medal winners Belgium will take on the Czech Republic, Germany and Switzerland in Group G.

Three-time champions Russia have been drawn in Group C and will pay Albania, Lithuania and Hungary.

The tournament is due to be held during June of 2019.

Serbia will organise two group phase pools in the cities of Nis and Zrenjanin and the final phase in Belgrade Arena.

The remaining two group phase pools will take place in Latvian capital Riga.
