The Czechs occupy third position courtesy of their 21-9 win over Andorra.

Estonia bounced back from their loss against Qatar to overcome Sri Lanka 21-2.

Last year's bronze medallists Slovenia started strongly in Group B, beating El Salvador 21-16 and Romania 21-12.

Hosts France were equally as impressive, defeating El Salvador 21-5 and The Philippines 22-11.

The Philippines had earlier got off the mark thanks to a 21-15 victory at the expense of Romania.

The World Cup is the first major 3x3 tournament since the sport became an Olympic event.

It was confirmed last week by the International Olympic Committee that 3x3 will make its Games debut at Tokyo 2020.

Action in Nantes is due to continue tomorrow with Groups A and D in the men's event and B and C in the women's event.
