Great Britain's Paralympic champion Sophie Hahn set a world record in the T38 100 metres at the Loughborough International Athletics meeting.

The 20-year-old, who won the same event at Rio 2016, improved on her own previous best by 0.11 seconds as she crossed the finish line in 12.49 at the Paula Radcliffe Stadium.

Hahn set a Paralympic record of 12.62 when winning gold in Rio de Janeiro last year.

It is not the first time Hahn has beaten her own world record.

She did the same at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Athletics Grand Prix Final in London in July 2015.

Hahn posted a time of 13.00 to break the 13.04 she clocked at Loughborough in 2014.

"Training's going really well and I've been working very hard on my blocks," she said according to Athletics Weekly.

"But I still can't believe that.

"Marlou [van Rhijn] was my biggest threat as I know she's a good starter, so I was just thinking 'keep relaxed, keep pumping your arms and hopefully she won't catch you'.

"She's a fantastic athlete so I'm really pleased."
