Dylan Alcott recovered from a second set wobble to defeat David Wagner today and win the quad singles title at the Japan Open in Iizuka.

It came in a pulsating dual between the top two seeds today in an event doubling as a leg on the UNIQLO Wheelchair Tennis Tour at the Chikuho Heights Tennis Courts.

Alcott won the first set 6-4 before being pegged back in the second 3-6 by his American opponent.

But the Australian dug deep to take the decider 6-3 and claim a third successive Japan Open crown.

Alcott also got the better of Wagner in the quads doubles final.

He teamed-up with fellow Australian Heath Davidson to beat Wagner and South African partner Lucas Sithole 7-6(3), 6-3.

Stephane Houdet and Nicolas Peifer claimed French gold in the men's wheelchair final after a 7-6(2), 6-3 win over Alfie Hewett and Gordon Reid of Britain.

Yul Kamiji ensured some home success in the corresponding women's event alongside Dutch partner Marjolein Buis.

They thrashed Britain's Lucy Shuker and another Dutch player in Aniek van Koot 6-1, 6-1.

Peifer had early got the better of his top-seeded team-mate Houdet with a 6-3, 5-7, 6-3 men's singles semi-final win.

He will play Reid tomorrow after the Briton beat Gustavo Fernandez of Argentina 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

The two top seeds will meet in the women's final.

Kamiji beat surprise semi-finallist Sakhorn Khanthasit of Thailand 6-2, 6-3 today.

Diede de Groot won an all Dutch duel against Aniek van Koot 6-3, 6-3.
