The International University Sports Federation (FISU) President Oleg Matytsin and secretary general Eric Saintrond have visited one of China’s leading education centres.

They went to the Beijing Sport University (BSU) to speak with students and staff at the venue which is considered one of the best places to study physical education in the Asian country.

The University, which has more than 14,000 students, was established in 1953 and in 2005, an honorary degree from them was given to Matytsin.

During the visit, Matytsin and Saintrond spoke to Cao Weidong, BSU’s chairman of the council, and President Chi Jian.

A tour was also conducted around the campus alongside FISU vice-president Yang Liguo and Yang Binsheng, director of the National Team Affairs Management Office.

Among the areas of the university visited on the tour included BSU’s training facilities, research centre and library.

Matytsin also led a lecture talking about the origins of university sports, its current state of international affairs and the history of FISU.
