Enrique Montero has been elected as President of the Brazilian Weightlifting Federation.

He was confirmed in the top job at the organisation's annual meeting in Belo Horizonte.

Montero was elected unanimously at a meeting attended by members and representatives from the Brazilian Olympic Committee.

Ranier Nardi Rezende was elected as vice president.

Brazil selected five weightlifters to compete at their home Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro in August.

Their best performers were Fernando Reis and Rosane Santos who both came fifth in their respective divisions.

Reis, a double Pan American Games champion, competed in the men's over-105 kilograms class.

Santos lifted in the women's under-53kg competition.
