Ashgabat 2017 has launched its ticket pricing structure for this year's Asian Indoor and Martial Arts Games in Turkemnistan's capital.

Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, the President of Turkmenistan who also heads the Organising Committee for the Games, approved the prices with the objective of "delivering a world class sporting event which is inclusive, accessible and affordable".

Children under the age of 14 will be able to attend for free while adult tickets for sporting sessions will be priced at TMT10 (£2.20/$2.80/€2.60) or TMT7 (£1.50/$2/€1.80).

The prices are designed to "encourage spectators to enjoy the live sporting action taking place and experience the health, inspiration and friendship that the Games will bring to Ashgabat".

The only difference will be for the Opening and Closing Ceremonies at the newly constructed Ashgabat Olympic Stadium, where the tickets will range from TMT50 (£11/$14/€13) to TMT500 (£110/$143/€130).

In all, more than 600,000 tickets will be available for more than 160 sporting sessions.

"Ashgabat 2017 will be a special event for the people of Turkmenistan, so with this in mind and under the direction of the President of the Organising Committee, we are pleased to be able to offer affordable ticket pricing to ensure everyone has the opportunity to attend," said Ashgabat 2017 Executive Committee chairman Dayanch Gulgeldiyev.

"This is a unique opportunity to watch international sports and to support our athletes."

Twenty-one sports will take place at Ashgabat 2017, across 15 venues between September 17 and 27.

As well as athletes from Asia, competitors from Oceania have also been invited to take part.

International fans will be able to buy tickets from authorised resellers.

Turkmenistan citizens will be able to buy from city box offices from the summer.
