The Palestine Olympic Committee (POC) joined forces with the country’s Ministry of Education to organise a special week for schoolchildren living there.

The third School Olympic Week was staged to give children the chance to take part in a number of learning about the Movement and take part in different activities.

These included playing Olympic sports like table tennis, basketball and judo.

Alongside the sport, the children were also part of an Opening Ceremony at the Hebron Closed Stadium, got to see an Olympic Torch and took the Olympic Oath.

The aim of the event is to help integrate sport to the school routines around Palestine.

The POC has sent a team to each Olympic Games since Atlanta 1996, but has never won a medal.
