The International Floorball Federation (IFF) has approved Kenya and Venezuela as its latest members, taking the total number to 66.

The Floorball Federation of Kenya was founded last year and is headed by Kenneth Karani.

It accounts for 350 licensed players - 250 men and 100 women - and 10 floorball clubs.

The Floorball Venezuelan Federation was also founded in 2016 and is led by Carlos Rafael Roldan Camero.

"The IFF congratulates both new members," a statement from the world governing body reads.

Floorball is a fast-growing sport played indoors with a plastic ball and sticks.

In each team there are five field players and a goalkeeper, who does not have a stick.

The IFF was founded by Finland, Sweden and Switzerland in 1986.

It is recognised by the International Olympic Committee and is an ordinary member of the Global Association of International Sports Federations.

Czech Republic’s capital Prague is due to host the next edition of the sport’s biennial World Championships in 2018.
