Marjolein Buis and Diede de Groot, both of The Netherlands, will contest the women's singles final at the South Africa Wheelchair Tennis Open at the Ellis Park Tennis Stadium in Johannesburg following semi-final victories today.

Top seed de Groot defeated compatriot and former world number one Aniek van Koot 7-5, 6-1 to secure her place in the final.

Buis joined her after she brushed aside South African number one Kgothatso Montjane 6-2, 6-1.

In the men's singles, the tournament's top seed, Frenchman Stephane Houdet, thrashed home favourite Evans Maripa 6-0, 6-4 to reach the last four.

He is now due to play Sweden's Stefan Olsson for a place in the final after he beat Nicolas Peifer of France 6-2, 7-5.

Rio 2016 gold medallist Gordon Reid was also victorious.

The Briton, the reigning Wimbledon champion, defeated compatriot Alfie Hewett 6-4, 3-6, 6-1.

Belgium's Joachim Gerard also made it through after claiming a 6-1, 6-2 win over Japanese eighth seed Yoshinobu Fujimoto.

The two top seeds both eased into the final of the quad singles event.

Lucas Sithole of South Africa dominated his compatriot Ronewa Mudzanani 6-0, 6-1.

Itay Erenlib of Israel also made it through after a 6-1, 6-3 success against Britain's Antony Cotterill.

Action is due to conclude on Friday (April 14).

The event is part of the International Tennis Federation Super Series.
