Canada will be hoping to use home advantage to secure a place in the Hockey World League (HWL) Semi-Finals when the country plays host to the final women's round two event in West Vancouver.

The host nation, currently ranked number 15 in the world, are one of seven nations due to participate in the competition at Rutledge Field, due to begin tomorrow.

Canada have been drawn in Group B, along with Chile, Mexico and Trinidad and Tobago.

Group A is comprised of Belarus, India, the top-ranked nation at the tournament as they sit 12th in the world standings, and Uruguay.

The top two finishers at the event in West Vancouver, the third round two competition, will book a spot at the HWL Semi-Finals, where qualification for next year's World Cup will be at stake.

The third-placed team must be ranked higher than 15th-placed Italy and 17th-placed Scotland to sneak through to the next round, meaning India can afford to finish third.

A vast amount of the players set to represent Canada competed at the HWL Semi-Finals in Valencia in 2015, including defender Danielle Hennig.

"As for what we learned from the HWL Semi Finals in Valencia, I guess just taking confidence that we can and have made it through to round three before is a powerful thing," Hennig, who has over 120 caps, said.

"From there we've used those games, and what maybe let us down, to shape the past two years of training and competition.

"We have been constantly refining and improving our game."

The tournament opens with the clash between India and Uruguay in Group A, before Chile take on Trinidad Tobago to get Group B proceedings underway.

Canada then make their entrance into the competition when they go up against Mexico.

The round two event is due to conclude with the final on April 9.
