Aggreko will provide temporary power and temperature control services at the World Para Athletics Championships in London in July.

The Glasgow-based company will be responsible for providing generators, cables and distribution panels to meet the specialist energy requirements of the week-long event.

It will mark their return to the Olympic Stadium after they played a similar role during the London 2012 Games.

"It is a pleasure to have Aggreko on board as the national supplier of temporary power and temperature control services for the World Para Athletics Championships London 2017," said Championship director Niels de Vos.

"They have a brilliant track record in providing specialist energy solutions for some of the biggest sporting events in the world and we look forward to working with them on the Championships over the next four months."

Aggreko, who were appointed during a "competitive tender process", have been involved as a supplier of temporary power at a host of other major sporting events.

This includes the Salt Lake City 2002, Beijing 2008 and Vancouver 2010 Olympic Games as well as the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games.

They also work with music festivals and both television and film productions.

More than 3,000 athletes spanning 200 nations are set to compete at the week-long Para Athletics World Championships, scheduled for July 14 to 23.

They will be followed by the International Association of Athletics Federations World Championships in London the following month.

"We're delighted to go back to the London Stadium, as we were there for London 2012 as official energy services supplier for the London Olympic and Paralympic Games, when it was the Olympic Stadium," added Kevin Brownhill, Aggreko's head of partnership and sponsorship.

"We know and understand the Stadium, and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and we're delighted to be going back as national supplier of temporary power and temperature control services to the World Para Athletics Championships London 2017."
