Laura Massaro and Sarah-Jane Perry will meet tomorrow in the first all-English Professional Squash Association (PSA) British Open women's singles final in 26 years.

Both players beat higher ranked opponents today at the Airco Arena in Hull.

Massaro, the 2013 winner, produced a sensational comeback to stun world number one and defending champion Nour El Sherbini.

The Egyptian star powered through the first two sets before the tide began to turn.

Home support proved crucial as Massaro battled to a 5-11, 7-11, 11-5, 11-3, 11-6 win in a 63 minute epic.

“I really wanted to do well this week, especially being at home," Massaro said afterwards.

"There was a lot of pressure on me going into that fifth.

"They say that the home crowd helps and when you’re down at the end there, it definitely does.”

Compatriot Perry then recovered from losing the second set to beat Malaysia's Nicol David in the second semi-final.

The home player triumphed 11-8, 7-11, 13-11, 11-7 in 56 minutes.

Tomorrow will mark the first all-English final since Lisa Opie overcame Sue Wright in 1991.

Nick Matthew secured more home success by beating Egypt's world number one Mohamed ElShorbagy in the men's competition.

The 36-year-old triumphed 11-8, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5 in 75 minutes to mark the first time in 64 years that England has provided three finalists.

Gregory Gaultier of France sealed the remaining spot after Egypt's Ramy Ashour retired with a hip injury one set into their semi-final.

Both finals are scheduled to take place tomorrow.
