Trinidad and Tobago are set to stage the final round two event of the Hockey World League (HWL) with the top two teams seeking to earn places in the semi-finals.

The host nation will be one of eight teams taking part in the event in Tacarigua, which is located 20 kilometres from the capital city Port of Spain.

Barbados, Canada, Chile and the United States have been placed into Pool A.

Japan, Russia and Switzerland taking on Trinidad and Tobago are in Pool B.

All eight teams will take part in the quarter-final stage, with the pool results set to determine their matches in the knock-out stage.

Pool action will take place until March 28, with the quarter-finals then being held two days later.

The semi-finals are scheduled to be held on April 1, before the third-place playoff and final are staged the following day.

The top two finishers will automatically progress to the HWL semi-finals, while there will still be a chance for the third place nation.

They will need to be one of the two highest ranked third place teams from the opening second round competitions.

Malaysia and China automatically qualified from the first event in Dhaka, while Egypt ended in third position.

Ireland won their home competition in Belfast, with France ending in second position and Scotland lying in third.

The first semi-final will be held in London, with hosts England having already been drawn alongside Argentina, Netherlands, India, South Korea and Pakistan.

Australia, Germany, Belgium, New Zealand and Spain were the automatic qualifiers for the second semi-final in South Africa.

The semi-finals will act as a qualifier for the Hockey World Cup, with the highest placed teams apart from the host nation and the five continental champions earning places.
