Biathlon legend Magdalena Forsberg has joined Eurosport Sweden’s team of former athletes spearheading its coverage of the 2018 Winter Olympic Games in Pyeongchang.

Forsberg, 49, is a six-time world champion and winner two Olympic bronze medals at Salt Lake City.

She had carried the Swedish flag at the Opening Ceremony of those Winter Olympics.

It means Sweden's last four Winter Olympic flagbearers are part of the commentary team for Eurosport.

"It will be incredibly fun to work at an Olympic Games again - this will be my third as an expert," she said.

"The Olympics is special for any athlete, and for me it will be even more fun to work with Eurosport.

"I know Peter [Forsberg], Anja [Paerson], Per [Elofsson] and many others within the Eurosport team from my career."

Eurosport will showcase the Games in more than 50 countries after parent company Discovery signed a contract with the International Olympic Committee in 2015.

"Magdalena Forsberg is a beloved icon and a knowledgeable expert and we are pleased and proud that she has chosen to join our team," added Discovery Networks Sweden Sport Director Emir Osmanbegovic.

"For us, she is the best possible expert in biathlon.

"We're 11 months away from the Olympic Winter Games Pyeongchang 2018, but already we have a super team."
