Details of the schedule for the 2017 Canadian National Taekwondo Championships have been unveiled by tournament organisers.

Taekwondo Canada have confirmed the opening ceremony will be held at the competition in Calgary at 1pm local time on May 25 before the weigh-ins are conducted later the same afternoon.

On the second day, Poomsae will be the main discipline of the championships with cadet, junior and Para categories being contested.

A variety of age groups will take to the mat on May 27 with competitors from under-5 right up over-65s set to take part in individual poomsae matches.

The same day will also see team poomsae for youth, over-30s and under-30s along with freestyle for all black belt divisions.

Proceedings will come to a close on May 28 with all colour belt divisions participating, including in Para taekwondo.

Alongside all the poomsae competition, there will also be sparring time slots set up on each day of the championships.

Qualification for the 2017 World Taekwondo Championships in Muju in South Korea, set to take place between June 24 and 30, will not be available at the tournament.
