Riders are set to battle it out for the Six Day Series titles during the final event of the campaign, which takes place in Mallorca tomorrow.

The one-night event at the Palma Arena is due to feature the top 12 male and female riders across the first four events, held in London, Amsterdam, Berlin and Copenhagen.

Belgium's Kenny de Ketele and Moreno de Pauw lead the way in the men's standings on 360 points, 125 in front of Dutch duo Yoeri Havik and Wim Stroetinga.

Leif Lampater and Marcel Kalz of Germany occupy third place on 176 points.

"It’s going to feel more like a World Championships, coming from six nights into one, but I’m up for the challenge and looking forward to seeing how everyone goes on the night," said Lampater.

"Everyone will have to adjust to it, but hopefully we can be the ones who are happy and exhausted come the end of it.

“The series has been fantastic, but the first half in particular is what stands out for us.

"We did well and were able to put some good performances together which was pleasing."

The women's finale is likely to provide high drama, with the top three on the standings separated by just 15 points.

Britain's Katie Archibald occupies pole position on 180 points but Danish duo Amalie Dideriksen and Trine Schmidt, second and third respectively, are hot on her heels.

Both of the riders from Denmark are on 165 points, with a 10 kilometres scratch race, an elimination race and a 10km points event scheduled to take place in Mallorca.

"I should be in fairly good shape in Mallorca and I can hopefully bring a good show," said Archibald.

"The lessons you can learn from competition are accelerated at Six Day because it provides so many opportunities to test yourself.

"Six Day has been really competitive, and when I’ve been speaking to other riders, everyone has been so focused on qualifying and reaching those qualifying spots.

"I think there are a lot of people with hunger for success at that event, so I think it is going to be taken pretty seriously and should be a good showdown."
