Astana Arlans Kazakhstan picked up their second victory of the World Series of Boxing season as they clinched a 4-1 win over the Uzbek Tigers at the Zhastar Sports Palace in Taldykorgan.

The Kazakh outfit dominated the Group C encounter as they made it two wins from two after they overcame the Russian-based Patriot Boxing Team in their opener.

The Patriot Boxing Team recovered from their loss at the hands of the Astana Arlans as they earned a 4-1 away triumph over the China Dragons at the Yalong Bay Conference Center in Sanya.

Astana Arlans occupy top spot in the group, with the Patriot Boxing Team and the China Dragons currently vying for second place with one victory apiece.

Olzhas Sattibayev, who competed at last year's Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, got the Kazakh team off to the best possible start as he won his flyweight bout with Aborjon Kodirov.

Lightweight competitor Zakir Safiullin then secured a unanimous points win over Murodjon Akhmadaliev to move the Astana Arlans to within one bout of victory.

Safiullin's success gave Aslanbek Shymbergenov the chance to wrap up the three points for his franchise and he duly obliged, beating Shakhram Giyasov in their welterweight clash by split decision.

Bektemir Melikuziev, pulled one back for the Uzbek Tigers as he swept aside Nurdaulet Zharmanov in their lightweight bout but the Astana Arlans emerged victorious in the final match of the night.

Kamshybek Kunkabayev comfortably picked off WSB debutant Bakhodir Jalolov to complete a commanding night for the home side.

Over in Sanya, Chang Yong ousted Ovik Ogannisian in a closely-fought flyweight match-up to edge the China Dragons 1-0 in front.

However, it proved to be a fleeting moment of joy for the hosts as Russian newcomer Shahriyor Akhmedov beat Rio 2016 lightweight boxer Shan Jun to level proceedings.

Artem Zaytsev overpowered Hu Richabilige to turn the tie on its head as the Patriots took a 2-1 lead before victory was sealed by established heavyweight Danil Shved, who defeated Shi Guojun.

Russia’s Maxim Babanin put the gloss on an excellent evening for the Patriot team as he beat Chinese debutant Wang Leilei.
