Reigning champions Denmark reached the final four of the European Mixed Team Badminton Championships today as they narrowly beat Sweden 3-0 in Lubin in Poland.

Joachim Fischer Nielsen and Christinna Pedersen produced the perfect start for the Danes as they collected an easy 21-13, 21-12 win over Sweden's Nico Ruponen and Amanda Hogstrom in the mixed doubles match.

Viktor Axelsen then added a second point for Denmark when he dispatched Henri Hurskainen 21-11, 21-14 in the men's singles.

Danish victory was then ensured when Sweden's Emma Karlsson was forced to retire midway through the second set of her women's singles match against Line Kjaersfeldt despite winning the opening set 21-19.

Denmark will now face Germany in tomorrow's semi-final after they overcame Poland 3-1 this evening.

Robert Mateusiak and Adam Cwalina pulled a point back for Poland in the men's doubles but wins in the men's and women's singles as well as the women's doubles saw the Germans through.

England also reached tomorrow's semi-finals after they came from two games down to defeat The Netherlands 3-2 earlier this afternoon.

The Dutch team raced into a 2-0 lead courtesy of men's and women's singles wins for Mark Caljouw and Gayle Mahulette.

Unfazed by the deficit, however, England roared back in the doubles matches to secure victory.

Lauren Smith and Sarah Walker pulled the first point back with a 21-18, 21-13 win over Iris Tabeling and Cheryl Seinen.

The match was then level when Marcus Ellis and Chris Langridge won their men's doubles match against Jelle Maas and Robin Tabeling 21-13, 21-16.

Victory was then complete when husband and wife team Gabrielle and Chris Adcock overcame Ruben Jille and Seinen 21-13, 21-18.

England will now face Russia in tomorrow's semi-finals after they beat France 3-1.

Victory was secured when Vladimir Ivanov and Ivan Sozonov defeated the French pairing of Bastian Kersaudy and Julien Maio 21-18, 21-9 in the fourth match.
