The host nation will hope to seal both of the singles titles at the Badminton World Federation (BWF) Thailand Masters after a successful semi-finals day at Nimibutr Stadium in Bangkok.

In the men's competition, unseeded home player Kantaphon Wangcharoen came from behind to win his last four clash with Malaysia's Lee Zii Jia.

Lee, who is also unseeded, beat Thailand's number one ranked Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk in the quarter-finals and took the first game today 21-15.

Wangcharoen, a bronze medallist at the World Junior Championships in Bilbao in Spain last year, was able to battle back, however, and eventually triumphed 15-21, 21-18, 22-20.

He will now meet third seed Tommy Sugiarto in the final of the Grand Prix Gold level event.

Sugiarto, who won bronze at the World Championships in 2014, won an all Indonesian tie against Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, 16-21, 21-18, 21-14.

In the women's competition, home hopes rest on top seed Busanan Ongbamrungphan who continued her progression to the final.

All four top seeds reached the semi-finals with the battle between second and third ranked players going the way of the latter.

Aya Ohori of Japan prevented an all-Thai final by beating Nitchaon Jindapol 21-16, 21-17.

Thailand could win four of the five titles on offer in Bangkok after also reaching two doubles finals.

Puttita Supajirakul and Sapsiree Taerattanachai will hope to beat China's Chen Qingchen and Jia Yifan to win the women's doubles crown, while the mixed final will see Taerattanachai in action again with Dechapol Puavaranukroh.

The host nation duo will take on China's Zhang Nan and Li Yinhui.

In the men's doubles final, Huang Kaixiang and Wang Yilu of China will play Chinese Taipei's Lu Ching-yao and Yang Po-han.

All five finals will take place tomorrow.
