The Special Olympics floorball seminar in Pakistan was attended by 32 people ©IFF

A seminar was held in Pakistan to discuss Special Olympics floorball.

A total of 32 people attended the session at the Sports Arena Qayyum in Peshawar to discuss the sport.

Among those at the one-day event were six coaches, of which four were from Bacha Khan University, and 22 people from special schools in the country.

Conducting the seminar was Ayesha Zaman, who said the event went very well.

“The participants loved the game and enjoyed it a lot,” Zaman said.

“I am happy with the positive response I received.

“It was beyond my expectations.”

The sport has been described by the International Floorball Federation (IFF) as “rather new” in the Asian nation.

Equipment has been donated by the Special Olympics Sports Resource Team to help develop floorball in Pakistan.

More seminars and visits to schools around the country are due to be set up in the future to continue the sport’s development there.
