Reynolds, a North Carolina-based corporate and securities attorney, moved up from his position as an independent member.

It comes after Johnson completes two full terms in office.

“I’d like thank Devin Johnson for his leadership during some difficult times and his ability to calmly steer the organisation toward a much brighter future," Reynolds said following his appointment.

"He can look back on his time with great pride, and we are all grateful to him.

"I consider it a huge honour to be asked serve as chair of the USA Taekwondo Board of Directors and pledge to work hard to continue and build upon the great strides achieved under chair Johnson."

Poomsae athlete Ron Southwick was also re-elected while veteran under 73kg competitor Sanaz Shahbazi is another addition.

"Their efforts, particularly Mr. Bettadapur’s as Audit Committee chair and Ms. Laurin’s on the AAC and several board committees, are very much appreciated by us all.”
