Two of the world leading boarders dominated qualification at the International Ski Federation (FIS) Snowboard Cross World Cup in Bansko, Bulgaria today.

Sochi 2014 Olympic champion and World Cup series leader Eva Samková of the Czech Republic led the way in the women's competition.

She comfortably progressed into the final in a time of 21.23sec.

Belle Brockhoff of Australia posted the second fastest time of 21.27.

France's Nelly Moenne Loccoz and United States' Faye Gulini progressed in third and fourth in respective times of 21:30 and 21:60.

There were even better fortunes for the US in the men's event as Hagen Kearney qualified first in 19.45.

Pierre Vaultier continued a good day for France just one hundredth behind in second.

Austria's Alessandro Haemmerle placed third in 19.58.

Italian World Cup leader Omar Visintin only squeezed into the final in 29th position.

Kearney lies second in the overall standings.

Both finals are scheduled for Saturday (February 4).
