Anhangueras claimed their second consecutive title at the fourth Brazilian Floorball Championship, which took place in the city of São Paulo.

The tournament's 10 teams were divided into two groups before knockout round matches were played.

Six teams, Albatroz, Invictus, Hockstar, Superação, Campo-Grandense and Dragões were all appearing at the competition for the first time but it was last year's winners who reclaimed their title.

After a number of thrilling matches throughout the tournament, Anhangueras from host city São Paulo claimed the trophy for a second time in a row.

"It was a balanced championship, with really tough matches and slight difference among the teams," said Adriano Serafim, sports director of the Brazilian Floorball Association (ABF).

"This year's venue was also important. The school of Externato Nossa Senhora Menina gave us a great rink to properly receive players and spectators."

Anhangueras' Frank Bichsel claimed the top scorer accolade while his team-mate Euclides Bugs was awarded best goalkeeper.

Meanwhile Marcelo Ranthum from Hockstar, who took the bronze medal in the tournament, was awarded the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

"Seeing the enthusiasm of players coming from three different states (Rio de Janeiro, Paraná and São Paulo) competing for the gold medal, show us that the ABF even with the difficulties, is on the right track," added Emilio Bugs, General Secretary of the ABF.

"We had 100 per cent increase on the number of players compared to last year.

"My thanks to all teams, our international referee Nélio Mendonça and to the teacher Tiago Macarin Rodrigues who assisted us to organise the best Brazilian floorball championship."
