Slovakia’s five-time Paralympic champion Henrieta Farkasova returned to winning form as giant slalom action continued at the International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Alpine Skiing World Cup in St Moritz today.

Farkasova, guided by Natalia Subrtova, had been beaten yesterday by British rival Millie Knight in their visually impaired category but recovered in superb style to win with a combined time of 1:42.89 across her two runs.

Knight had to settle for second place this time around in 1:43.87.

Her British team-mate Kelly Gallagher was a distant third in 1:48.99.

Marek Kubacka completed a Slovakian double by winning the corresponding men's race.

He clocked 1:34.81 to beat Italy's Giacomo Bertagnoli, in 1:35.75, and another Slovakian in Jakub Krako, who finished third in 1:37.03.

Austrian skiers also had a strong day, with wins in both the men’s and women’s sitting categories.

Three-time Paralympic bronze medallist Roman Rabl sealed a fourth victory this season in the men's event with a time of 1:37.87.
