Bad weather forced competition to be postponed today at the Sailing World Cup final at Melbourne's St Kilda foreshore.

Heavy winds overnight, including gusts of 40 knots, continued throughout the morning and into the early part of the afternoon.

With the conditions seemingly unlikely to change, a decision was made early in the afternoon to postpone the day's racing.

After two days of racing Jack Lilley holds the lead in the finn competition on four points and is trailed by Ed Wright of Great Britain on six and Caleb Paine of the United States on seven.

Rio 2016 Olympic silver medallists Jason Waterhouse and Lisa Darmanin of Australia continue to control the Nacra 17 fleet while The Netherlands' Kiran Badloe and Zofia Noceti Klepacka of Poland have been truly dominant in the men's and women's RS:X events.

Having won 10 races in a row, Florian Gruber of Germany finally beat him before Bridge instantly returned to winning ways.

Australians Mat Belcher and Will Ryan are the duo to beat in the men's 470 on home water while Lara Vadlau and Jolanta Ogar of Austria solidified their lead in the women's fleet yesterday.

Dutch sailor Marit Bouwmeester currently leads the laser radial while Cyprus' Pavlos Kontides holds a narrow advantage at the head of the laser division.

In the 49er and 49erFX, Isaac McHardie and William McKenzie of New Zealand and Australians Tess Lloyd and Eliza Solly lead the men's and women's skiff classes respectively.
